Renata Lee – Isagenix International Top Earner
Well, here is yet another health and wellness MLM business. There are so many, I have lost count. And it seems like most of them are established in the state of Utah. So it was a surprise when I read about one that was set up somewhere else.
Isagenix International LLC was founded in 2002 in Chandler, AZ by Jim & Kathy Coover and John Anderson. Jim and Kathy Coover are network marketing experts and John Anderson has many years of experience in the nutritional supplement industry. Since the beginning, Isagenix has done extremely well. In 2012, this direct sales company reported over $300 million in revenue.
Jim Coover was CEO until 2013, and currently serves as the president and chairman. Kathy Coover is the executive vice president. Kathy Coover was also named one of the most influential women in direct selling by Direct Selling News magazine. Jim and Kathy’s son, Erik, has joined the company and is the vice president of global field development. Isagenix says that it has over 150,000 independent distributors. Over the years, Isagenix has expanded into Canada, as well as Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and New Zealand.
Isagenix says that it separates itself from the rest of the network marketing companies due to its affordable starter up and possessing one of the best compensation plans in the industry. According to Isagenix when you become a consultant, you become a member of a MLM business that focuses on providing you with a culture in which family, fun, success, and growth are important.
At the foundation of its success is a culture that is firmly established and a set of values that motivate and inspire everyone who is involved with Isagenix to accomplish their goals. Isagenix says that it holds its corporate head and its associates to a high set of standards and ethics. This network marketing business is so passionate about having values that it lists them so the world can see them. Some of them are:
- Leadership Development
Another thing I found interesting is that Isagenix believes that if it isn’t right for the associates, it isn’t right for the company. So it seems that Isagenix cares about those that market its products around the globe.
This is why the aim of Isagenix is to influence health worldwide and free people from physical pain and money issues, forming in the process, the world’s biggest health and wellness multilevel marketing company. To give back to the community, Isagenix supports a number of charities, such as Make-A-Wish and Childhelp.
As I said before, Isagenix offers health and nutritional products whether you are trying to lose weight, combat aging, maximize performance, or achieve optimal health. In addition, customers can purchase cosmetics and wealth creation product bundles, which are connected to Isagenix’s network marketing strategies. As a customer, you can choose from:
- Protein Shakes
- Weight Loss Supplements
- Body Cleansing/Fat Burning Systems
- Snacks and Mini Meals
- Energy Drinks
- Athlete’s Pak
- Healthy Aging and Telomere Support System
- Brain and Sleep Support System
- Joint and Pain Relief System
- Anti-Aging Skin Care Line (Rejuvity)
Wow, it seems like the products at Isagenix run the whole gamut. However, there have been some discrepancies. In 2009, the Isagenix business was part of a recall of peanuts that were supposedly linked to salmonella. The peanuts were in the Chocolate Dipped Honey Peanut Bar.
Other Isagenix complaints include some reports by professional health care providers who state that claims about the Isagenix products are false and misleading. Moreover, there are further claims that the amount of Vitamin A in some of the product is lethal and goes against the recommended amount.
An Australian health organization also reported that the cleansing products are not supported by science. It goes on further to say that the weight loss products are quite similar to those customers can find in any store. Some customers stated that independent distributors were providing medical advice about the products which is forbidden by Isagenix.
Isagenix hosts the Isagenix Challenge, a 16-week body transformation challenge for associates and loyal customers. For everyone that completes their body transformation, they receive $200 worth of products. Additionally, they are also eligible to win a share of the $200,000.00 in cash, prizes, and trips.
As usual, I tried to find any information about Isagenix being a pyramid scam, such as lawsuits or legal issues. I couldn’t find anything. What I found people who are typically skeptical of all network marketing companies.
However, I did find one report that said that Isagenix cannot support any of its claims that any of its treatments remove toxin from the body. Moreover, there is a disclaimer on the Isagenix website that says none of the statements have been endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration, and the products are not intended to cure, treat, or prevent any disease.
