Chan Koon Tin & The Chai Foong (Alice) – Amway Top Earners
The first thing I learned about Chan Koon Tin was that he had passed away on March 9, 2010. The second thing I learned was that he was a remarkable leader in the Amway multilevel marketing business. He started with the company in 1978, and he went Platinum in 1979. Rising rapidly from one rank to the next, in 1980, he earned the Emerald.
Next for him was the Diamond in 1982, the Executive Diamond in 1984, the Double Diamond in 1993, the Triple Diamond in 2000, and in 2005, Chan Koon Tin became a Crown Ambassador. What an accomplished individual!
I didn’t know him personally, but Chan Koon Tin seems like a goal-driven person. He was an Executive Diamond in China and an Emerald in Taiwan. A testimony to his leadership skills is this: his team had more than 600 Diamonds and above and over 10 Crown Ambassadors and Founding Council Members. It is no wonder Chan Koon Tin & The Chai Foong (Alice) earned $100,000.00 per month in residual income.
If you are still thinking that Amway is a company that sells household items, think again. Amway is one of the world’s largest network marketing businesses, and it has been in MLM industry for more than 50 years. The backstory for Amway USA, which is the country where it was established, is that two men (Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos) who wanted a better life for their families.
They decided to start a business in which sells occurred through building relationships. Amway has consistently been ranked on the list of top 30 direct sales marketing companies. If you are curious about how much it grosses, Amway has posted earnings over $11 billion. Amway offers numerous products, including:
- Water Purifiers
- Nutrilite Dietary Supplements
- Personal Care
- Air Purifiers
Over the years, Amway has been accused of being one of those MLM scams. However, there has been no evidence to support these accusations. Amway is available in more than 100 countries around the globe.
One of Amway’s biggest success stories is that of Bill Britt. A military veteran, he was skeptical about enrolling with Amway after falling for a direct selling scam. However, he decided to give Amway a go in 1970, and by 1973, he earned the rank of Diamond. A person who loved a challenge, his work ethic earned him the rank of Double Diamond in 1976, Triple Diamond in 1980, Crown in 1994, and Crown Ambassador in 1996. He was also a member of the Founders Council.
How good was Bill Britt? His downline had over one million people, with one million of these people working for Amway in India through Double Diamond members Kanti & Hemi Gala. Bill Britt was so good at what he did that his team had more than 300 members that had reached the Diamond status. It is nice to hear of someone who leads by example. Bill Britt died at the age of 81 in 2013.
Amway is truly a family-oriented business. Jay Van Andel’s eldest son, Steve Van Andel currently serves as the chairman of Amway. Doug DeVos, youngest son of co-founder Rich DeVos, serves as president. I am not sure if The Chai Foong (Alice), wife of Chan Koon Tin, is carrying on his work with Amway, but I read that Peggy Britt is carrying on her husband’s work with Amway.
